日本国政府（にほんこくせいふ）は、国勢調査（こくせいちょうさ）を行（おこな）います。国勢調査（こくせいちょうさ）は、日本（にほん）に住（す）んでいる人（ひと）の数（かず）を調（しら）べるものです。外国人（がいこくじん）もみんな答（こた）えます。必（かなら）ず答（こた）えることが法律（ほうりつ）で決（き）まっています。あなたが答（こた）えたことは、国勢調査（こくせいちょうさ）以外（いがい）のことには使（つか）いません。家（いえ）で調査（ちょうさ）の紙（かみ）を受（う）けとったら、中（なか）に入（はい）っているものを見（み）て、答（こた）えてください。

The government of Japan is conducting the census.

The census is a survey of the actual situation of all people living in Japan and their households.

Foreign residents are also included to the census.Responding to the census is mandatory by law.

The answers are never used for other purposes such as immigratoin control or police investigations.

Once you receive your survey documents at home, please check what is inside and answer the questions.
